> SAKKIE VIR ‘n PAKKIE
Purpose of Sakkie vir ‘n Pakkie:
There are numerous families in our community (i.e. Still Bay and Melkhoutfontein) finding it extremely difficult to afford the basic necessities to survive. On the other hand, there are households that can afford to lend a helping hand, but they cannot afford to help a family with what they need completely. Therefore, Badisa came up with a balanced monthly grocery list for a family that can be built up by more than one donor.
The current solution:
Individual donors contribute a few items to make up the complete grocery list.
How it works:
Each plastic bag you take from the ‘Sakkie vir ‘n Pakkie’ box, contains a note of the items that you can add to your own shopping. You put those items in the bag and bring it to church on Sundays, leave it at the allocated place, and on Mondays somebody takes all the bags brought to church on Sunday to Badisa. At Badisa, these items are then stored in their storage room. Every month or when necessary, these items are used to fill the complete grocery bag and delivered to the relevant households.
Please note that OK Foods donated quite a few plastic bags towards this project (and we are very grateful to them for this generous donation), but if you do have plastic bags (typically bags from OK or Spar) that can be used again, it would be appreciated if you could bring them to church and put them in the box at the back of the church. Badisa also returns our bags, but many of them get damaged in the packing process.

> 2nd HAND CLOTHING

> DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
From time to time a need for durable medical equipment (such as crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, splints, etc) arises. If you can perhaps support this need, please contact us – refer contact details below
